The Seven Courses, and the Eighth Coming

July 27, 2026

Most people hear “Reynolds Lake Oconee” and think of one golf course. There are seven active right now, Great Waters by Jack Nicklaus, The Landing by Bob Cupp, The National by Tom Fazio, The Oconee by Rees Jones, The Preserve by Bob Cupp, Creek Club by Jim Engh, and Richland by Tom Fazio, with an eighth, Fenmoor, designed by Steve Smyers, in development.

I don’t say that to impress anyone. I say it because it changes how you should think about buying here. A golf buyer at Reynolds isn’t choosing a course the way they might choose a single private club elsewhere. They’re choosing a rotation, a different mood and a different architect depending on the week, the weather, who’s visiting. Great Waters gives you dramatic lakeside holes. The National gives you Fazio’s sense of elevation and forest. Creek Club gives you Jim Engh’s more dramatic, modern routing.

What I tell clients early: don’t fall in love with one course before you’ve played a few. The house you buy will likely sit closer to one than the others, and that’s worth knowing before you commit to a lot.

If you’re weighing Reynolds against the rest of the lake, I’m happy to walk the actual course rotation with you before we look at a single listing.
